Advice requested on Android Operating system

Found 26th Feb 2010
Just got my first Android phone (Tattoo) and am curious that there doesn't seem to be a way to close apps after use. I am using the Back or Home keys. With my PC mentality, that indicates to me that the processes are left running in the background, consuming valuable battery capacity.

Is this normal with Android, or have I just not found out how to close apps properly yet?

I don't think you can, google tells me I can't and I've not done it on my Hero yet either.

Yes its still running in the background, install an app called "taskiller" its free on the marketplace, and you can use it to kill any program you do not want.. its very good by the way... to view the last 6 programs running, long press the home button for about 3 seconds and you ll see the last 6 programs.

Cool I'll have a look at this cheers, not that I'm really fussed on the apps being running. In fact I make use of the holding home button for 3 seconds function all the time!
