I use Avast anti virus and SuperAntiSpyware, plus Malwarebytes if there are any problems

Lots of people use Adaware or Search&Destroy(?) for spyware

I guess there are 3 mains things:

    1) Anti-virus product
    2) Firewall product
    3) Spyware / Malware product

You should only ever run ONE anti virus product and ONE firewall.

You can run 2 or more spyware / malware products.

Many companies now sell all-in-one "security suites" which offer all the above (and more) but these come at a cost.

There are plenty of free anti-virus products, firewalls, and spyware products.

    I happen to use

    1) Avast for anti virus (have used AVG in the past but now moved to Avast).

    2) ZoneAlarm for firewall (Windows has a firewall but best to use an external one)

    3) I also use MalwareBytes and Adaware for Spyware / Malware / Adware.

Of course there are plenty of other products and different people have their favorites.
    .

I use Windows own firewall, Windows Defender and Avira Anti-Virus.

Not had any problems for years. Used to use AVG until V8 started to chew up 85% of my system resources.
