advice/help with CEX

Hi all, i've got a mobile that I was hoping to sell to CEX using their 'post-in' option, i'd rather get a fixed price for it than put it on ebay.
Has anyone here used this service before, and if so how would you rate them?
cheers.

I haven't used it, but I know some people have had good experiences, but others bad, eg: cex denying even recieving the item however on the tracking its marked as signed for.

If you have a store, go there.

Remember you wont know until they recieve it what grade they'll mark it at, so you might not get as much as you're hoping.

yep That's exactly what i was concerned about...

Personally, instore they're good. They'll tell you there and then how much.

which phone?
locked/unlocked?
if locked, to what network?
Is it scratched heavily? or even lightly?
alot or not alot if yes?
boxed?
all cables + accessories?
overall condition?
I may be able to roughly tell you.

well i've used the checklist they have, and it says £50
Samsung D900i
Locked to O2
apart from some one or 2 very light general
Original box with all cables and accessories
if i had to rate the condition out of 10 (10 being factory sealed new), i'd say 8 1/2 or a 9.

I'd say condition A, or that's what i'd test it as.

Do you have a store near you?
If not, your best bet is online, or only rather. Remember it MUST be sent via special delivery.

Or you could sell it here maybe.

they take an age to process it when you send it in and as tomm said you wont know what condition it is. IF possible take it to the store. much easier.

I've posted phones to them before with no problem. Just made sure i sent it recorded delivery. When you sell it, you sell it to them as the grade you think it is (you're given a guide as to which grade is which) and there is a button you can click that says 'return failed goods by post' which i had them do with a dvd once, so they shouldn't mark it down if you've sold it to them at a certain grade. I've actually had better luck with grading online then in store. Had one or two set to's with them in store and try to avoid if i can. Be warned atm tho, they've just moved premises and seem to have a huge backlog of both processing things and sending payment. I've waited about a month for a payment which eventually went in yesterday and still have one waiting.

I think on the day it depends on the mood of the person who's booking it in for testing.

I've taken things in with scratches on the screen [quite a few scratches] and got A condition
