I got an Elephone P9000 lit off amazon for £150 while my iphone was being repaired. Have to say I was quite impressed! Looks good, runs well, definitely don't see why people would pay £700 for a samsung running the same software on mostly identical hardware. Unfortunately I have noticed it doesn't quite match up to the iphone on a few things but before the 6 plus I always had android phones (HTC M7 was my last) and it runs just as well as they did. To be honest I think its more the apps that the phone but an android user will be able to help with that bit more. Pokemon Go seems to freeze up, takes longer to open, doesn't track as well. Facebook takes a few seconds to load videos when scrolling rather than being instant like the iphone is. Just little things like that but I'm really going to struggle ever paying £700 for a phone again now I have tried one.
Maybe do what I did. Get one of Amazon and as long as you look after it you have 30 days to decide if you want to keep it.

I've got a Doogee X6 Pro. £60 on Amazon. I used to go Samsung Galaxy but, since getting this, I haven't looked back. Camera isn't great and doesn't do HD video but, unless you tend to use your phone more as a camera, this shouldn't be a problem.

It doesn't seem like either of the previous posters actually read your question OP. Affordable Mobiles are decent, been around a good while, and often pop up on deals on HUKD. I wouldn't worry about using them. Also, once you've taken out the contract, you'll deal directly with the network you've chosen.

As for the advice regarding the cheapo Chinese handsets, you do get what you pay for. And there's no way you get the same identical hardware on an Elephant P9000 as you would on the Galaxy S7. The difference between them is palpable. If you haven't used the top end handsets, you really can't then say a cheap Chinese handset performs the same.

Ever thought about becoming a politician, you have managed to waffle on about a completely different subject than was asked and avoided answering the question altogether.
I think you could have a whole new career ahead of you!
