After a Wii

Hi,
I'm after some advice on buying a wii, I haven't bought a console since the megadrive era.
I was thinking of getting the wii from amazon for £180. Its bundled with wii sports, a remote and nunchuck.
amazon.co.uk/o/A…T82

Is this a good price for the bundle.

Could someone advise me on what good boxing games and shooting games there are for the wii. for boxing games is the nunchuck and remote enough or do i need two remotes?? I'm sorry for asking such daft questions but I'm clueless about consoles .

Cheers.

Hello mate, John Lewis has them for 169 Delivered (with 10£ voucher) was posted the other day and is stil not listed as expired.

Hope that helps.

The wii is a great console! To get you started wii sports has boxing, bowling, baseball, golf and tennis. These are great and my family still play on it a year after getting it.

If you have another person in the household or friends that might want to play too then I'd definately recommend Wii Play. It comes with a second Wiimote (controller) and there are games like (cartoon-y) clay pigeon shooting, a game a bit like Pong (digital air-hockey) and others. I like the cow racing game on Wii Play!
If you want to do two player on Wii Sports boxing then you need another nunchuck too.

£180 is the standard price for a Wii with Sports, it's rare for them to ever be much less than this. There was a code on her recently for £10 off at John Lewis which would bring it to £169.99 however the stock on the John Lewis site goes really quick once a code is posted on here!

The wii can connect to the internet and if you like Megadrive games then you'll love the wii download games on the Wii Shop. They have real classic games on there that you can pay to download straight to your console, think the most expensive ones work out to about £7 each.

I don't have any boxing or shooting games but my brother-in-law loves Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles (shooting) and Red Steel is a great game for shooting and swords. You can get Red Steel quite cheaply now too but it's a good game (in my opinion), Argos have it for £19.99 argos.co.uk/sta…htm

If you have the cash, a remote charging station is also great, I got mine at Argos - half price (£9.99) when bought with a selected game. I like the argos one as it comes with the batteries and a lot of other charging units don't, the one on Amazon doesn't have batteries included. The charging units save a fortune in batteries for the wiimotes.

If you have a virgin card you can get 10% off which takes the wii down to just over £160 with controllers and wii sports.

If you are really interested in boxing, you can get boxing gloves as well - havent tried these though

Thanks for all the advice.

Just a quick question on the wii boxing games, do you need two wii remotes or is 1 wii remote and nunchuck thing enough for single player?

If all goes well then hopefully I'll order the wii and a few games later on tonight
Thanks again.

For single player you need 1 remote and 1 nunchuck on boxing.
( This is the boxing that comes within the wii sports )
There are other games where you need both the remote and the nunchuck
( and therefore to play two player you need two of each )
but you do not have to have anything else but a remote and nunchuck
to play all single player games
( the steering wheel, boxing glove, golf club etc are all optional and all they
do is mount the remote! )
I hope this helps?

Cheers mate, You've cleared things up for me.
Thanks for info.

my advice when chooseing games is to shop around ,, games like super money ball , dewys adventure and elledees are all between 29.99 and 32.99 in asda but in the 2 for £30 in argos ,
games prices vary quite a lot from store to store , i always check prices else where befor i buy
and dont forget deal extream if you want things like streering wheels ect ,
amazon has a wii sports set ( tennis racket steering wheel golf club ect ) for £7, odd thats £30 in argos , so shop around for the best deals on anything wii related

Thats not a bundle. thats stock standard. The best games for the wii are (in no particular order. Galaxy probably the best game tho). Super mario galaxy, zelda - twilight princess, resident evil 4, metroid prime 3: corruption (both shooters) Hope this helps!!
