I need a device that will let me control a Windows 10 laptop that will be used for running Kodi amongst other things. It will be sitting in the cabinet under the TV.

Some kind of air mouse or remote control, but capable of operating the laptop like you would with a normal mouse on a desk, but from your sofa instead.

Not sure about any good air mice but for kodi control I would use an MCE remote. IR is the best way to go as a lot of BT MCE remotes eat through batteries. Hope this helps a bit.

Amazon has heaps of air mouse starting at £10

OK, so do they work in the way that a desktop mouse would work, except you wave the device around with your hand and that makes the cursor move on the screen? kind of like a Wii remote?

Google this

Wireless 2.4G Mini Keyboard Backlit

and check amazon or ebay. Perfect for kodi also Backlit so you can see the keys in the dark. Should be around £8-9 from China or around £12 - 15 from a UK stockist

Its Bluetooth just put the dongle in a usb slot and you are away.

Great, that brings up a few priced around £15 as you say.
Would you pick any particular one over another?
e.g. amazon.co.uk/Wir…DJ0
or amazon.co.uk/Rii…UWA
or even amazon.co.uk/Rii…YG8

I have the old one which isn't back lit, however if I was buying again it would be a must. Sorry can't recommend which one, just check the reviews. Ignore unverified and take a punt or anyone else got a Backlit One who can help?

I'm sure you will be fine though, I literally bought the cheapest on ebay and its working fine 18 months later and charge it about once every 2 months. However Backlit I'm sure will require more.

Also look at libreelec If you are mainly the pc for kodi. It boots from a usb drive straight into kodi in seconds
