    Airport Parking solution - Gatwick

Hi all you helpful people ;-)

I just booked a holiday for my family to fly out from Gatwick on the 25th of Sep for 2 weeks.
Airport parking is coming in at £100 for 2 weeks (!!) and after searching some sites it seems that hotels are only interested in giving a room for myself and my wife, and want a whole extra room to be booked for my 2 year old son!

Has anyone flown from there recently that can recommend anywhere that may not come up on the web? Or, does anyone who lives by there fancy an extra car in the drive for 2 weeks and £50 in their pocket? ;-p

    Any help appreciated!

try googling "park and stay Gatwick", hotels offer free parking nearby, contact some and im sure they will give you a deal!

Now this might have some merit.... My only concern is parking it up for 2 weeks with no security, etc. Worth thinking about though.

I've tried googling and found plenty of places. it's ridiculous really. Dedicated parking places are charging up to £140ish for 2 weeks.
The best I've found is Russ Hill Hotel which will give me a room for 1 night and 2 weeks of parking for £70 (booked through here: ]http//se…033
However, they'll only give me a double room with 'no children permitted'
I wonder if I just book it if i can sneak my son in somehow......

We've done this in the past:
Find a local train station on a direct line to Gatwick.
Park in a residential area near train station, catch train to and from - the only cost is the train fare there and back.
It worked fine. The obvious risk is car theft, but if you make sure there is nothing on show it should be OK. You could also remove a spark plug HT lead for added security. Easy to do in less than a minute.
You would need to leave yourself 30 mins extra for looking for a parking spot.
