aldi kids table & chairs issue.

Hi, I bought a blackboard table and chairs from aldi a few months back. It was bought for the kids birthdays (29-30 Dec). When I unpacked it the other day I discovered one of the chairs were broken, I couldn't find the receipt so I called up there helpline and was told they couldnt do anything without the receipt.

I've not even opened the packaging which within the box is heat wrapped and could see the damage through that. I've gone back through my bank statements and can only assume I've paid cash.

    Link to item.

Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Have you asked if you can just swap it for another one? It may be that they can't issue refunds without a receipt but they may well let you swap it ( assuming they still have stock of course).

I would take it in in its box, place it in a trolley then march thru store asking for manager, he will surely be able to see tis their product, am pretty sure most stores will give credit for their goods rather than a refund with no receipt

Id certainly prefer to have it swapped but, the helpline told me they went on sale in April and finding stock would be difficult however if I have the receipt they could possibly try and source me the part via the manufacturer

Thanks, just trying to find out where I stand before marching into the store. Trying to avoid looking like a total tool. (lesson learned. Open and Check item & keep the receipt)

Worth raising it via social media too - twitter fb - they hate that and will do all they can to rectify matter. You should be fine.

I had this with another item the other day, I was told if you knew which day and store you brought it they can get a copy of the receipt from that store.

Hi I know which store I purchased it from just not sure when as I bought it a couple of months back and kept it packed for their birthdays

On here you say for birthday and on twitter youve said for xmas. Theyll take you for a ride if you dont keep your story consistent.

I would ask them if any of there stores have stock and buy it then return the faulty one for refund if possible.

Thanks for pointing that out, kids birthdays are on the 29-30 Dec as posted above, genuinely not taking anyone for a ride, simple mistake.

    Did you pay on card?
most of all companies have recorded transactions on the back office PC. They should be able to trace within a time frame using the last 4 digits of your card.
