There are not normally any taxi's outside the station, it's quite remote
Uttoxeter train station is on the outskirts of the town about 10 mins to the bus station, where you should be able to get a taxi

Alton Towers is roughly 25 mins by bus and possibly 20 mins by taxi

Unfortunately if you choose to travel by bus you'll miss the fireworks which are excellent

just one more question lol, which is nearest farley gates or the coach park, how far r each from the park entrance roughly in mins or walking distace

First pmt bus 32A
Unsure of the times but it takes you to Alton towers.

Not 100% sure as I haven't been for ages but I think Farley Gates are the vehicle entrance and the coach park is just inside on the right hand side. I think both are close to the park entrance. If you go by car the car parks are quite a distance away and you have to catch the monorail back to the main entrance

Hello, i was thinking about getting the train from Ashford international, to Uttoxeter, however how will i get to alton towers from Uttoxeter? How much is the bus? Thanks

theres a shuttle bus that takes u inside alton towers, last time i went it was £5 not sure how much it is now tho
the timetables should be on the website

the bus service from uttoxeter run by alton towers has been cancelled you may need to check here.

others have stopped too

If you search taxi services on yell give one a call and ask how much the taxi it.. but it looks like it's going be a fair bit.

last year i was offered a taxi for £15 when I got off the train, I said no then he asked others saying £20. But looking on websites its around £30 that is scandalous its 9.5 miles. I am getting a taxi from sheffield childrens hospital thursday back to doncaster and that is £25 for 22.6 miles.

Standard pickup charge is £2.00. That gets you your first half a mile or so, then it's £2.00 per mile thereafter. So £20 is spot on, and £15 is actually discounted. The journey you do in Sheffield is dirt cheap, probably due to the heavy competition all inner-city taxi firms face - When you take into account the gallon and a half the driver will use getting you there and then himself back (especially if it's "dead miles" coming back, ie without a passenger paying his return fare) then he's making about £7 an hour from you, and that's before wear and tear on his vehicle.
