Am having a problem with my tumble dryer, can anyone help, please?

Found 18th Apr 2010
Evening all.

I have tried searchng online but can't really find anything for the problem I am having.

I have a White Knight condenser dryer, bought it about 3 years ago and it has always worked perfectly.
Yesterday I put it on and went out, when I came back the 'bottle full' indicator light was on so I took the bottle out to empty it but it was empty!

Now no matter what I do the light just stays on, which means the dryer doesn't work

Don't suppose anyone has heard of this? Also, who could I call to have a look, would it be a washing machine repair company?

Thank yous x

Water getting in and short circuiting it somehow?

try jamming the bottle at a slightly different angle-use a piece of thick card and wedge it below the bottle(if you catch my drift)-its the sensor for the bottle playing up-ours did it too but mrs barky cured it with a bit of card.

sometimes our condenser dryer does that for 2 reasons
1 the bottle is not pushed in properly
2 the filters near the condenser need cleaning out
its not the same model as yours but worth a try
good luck

Thanks, but would that not cut the electric?

I have tried playing with it but that doesnt seem to be the problem. it was mid cylcle is suddenly did it and also non of the water from the clothes went in the bottle

One problem I have had is that I have never cleaned the condenser because I cant get the bloody thing out - I lost my manual as soon as I got the dryer and never managed to find one online.

I found one thread where someone suggested taking the whole back of and seeing if there is water in there - if there is the use a hairdryer to dry it for about 20 minutes - might have to give that a go, fun times
