been looking at getting it but would like some more info. basically i want to apply for it then spend a little just to get the £15 gift voucher. once i get the gift voucher and repay the money spent on the card would i just be able to cancel the credit card? never done this before as i have never had a credit card.

In the last week I have signed up for this credit card for exactly the same reason, but I will be keeping mine, always handy to have as long as you are good at managing your finances (i.e pay the bill off in full each time avoiding all interest charges).

In answer to your question, I would imagine you can cancel the card if you don't trust yourself with it, if you can trust yourself you may as well keep it, there are no annual fees or stipulations for you to use it, sometimes if you havn't made a purchase for over 18 months they write to you saying that they will cancel it if you don't use it before such a date.

thanks for the info, i can trust myself with money (i think i can) but ive never had a credit card before and was worried about subscriptions etc. Does it also give you discount at amazon do you know?

I think there is some sort of reward scheme but I can't remember what it is.

When you say subscriptions, do you mean annual fees? - If so this card doesn't have any fees attached to it.

Credit Cards are fine as long as you stay in control of them and pay them in full, so if you are good with money you will be OK (when statement arrives pay it with online banking, nice and easy)

yes i meant annual fees:thumbsup: i looked at the reward scheme but i think you have to spend alot to make it worthwhile. rep left:)

edit: couldnt leave rep for some reason :-( will try later

No probs, if it's a rewards card you are more after then the Capital One might suit you better, 4% cashback for first 3 months, then 1% thereafter.

Obviously no initial £15 incentive like this Amazon one though.

i dont earn enough money for a cashback card, i only have a sunday job lol

I would recommend the Goldfish card. You get points each time you use it, and as long as you pay it off each month it doesn't cost you anything. The points soon add up too and can be cashed in for vouchers for loads of shops.

Use it like you would a cheque book and keep a tally of the transactions you make against your budget and then when the bill comes in you'll have no problems paying it all.

You literally can go buy a paper on it and then go pay it off online and your done! You will get the voucher sent to you just after your first statement! Then cancel. Easy as that! :-D

Check out www.MoneySavingExpert.com for deals with credit cards, you can get a lot more for your money that a £15 voucher, anything from an ipod to a stay in a hotel. You then only need to spend as little as 35p to get the deal. However please keep in mind every credit card you apply for will incure a score on your credit records. One or two are OK but after that these checks will become detrimental to you as lenders will start to think that you either have loads of credit that you cannot repay dotted all over the place, or you have no credit as you are such as bad risk!!! :-D

hi
i signed up for this card. made a purchase and then got my £15 discount when the first bill came.
the whole process was very easy and it's worth doing in order to get the £15 voucher.
I haven't cancelled it yet, but don't intend to use it. I emailed them and found out you have to ring a number to cancel.
good luck with it.
