Amazon Kindle eBook Reader + Sony eBook Reader @ Dixons

Monday 11 October. Just going through Edinburgh Airport and popped into the Dixons store to check a few things out. I asked about any eBook Readers they had. Reply was none but they are just about stock the Amazon Kindle and hte Sony eBook Readers. Both will be cheaper buying through them [at an airport though] than what you can get elsewhere.

Even the Kindle will be cheaper buying direct with them than buying on Amazon.

The Sonys will be going on sale in the next few days.

The Amazon Kindle in a couple of weeks.

I fly through the airport all the time so I will update this post when I see actual prices. Don't vote me down yet - wanted to make sure others didn't go ahead and buy then find a deal on here.

Main thing is - don't buy yet if you are planning to get one for Christmas for somebody.

Cheers
DL

It is a deal - this post is saying "don't buy now - Wait a couple of weeks" as it will be cheaper

Not expired if it's not started either

goonertillidie - did you EXPIRE this post? That is nasty - people are going to overspend on these things in the next couple of weeks!

Moved to MISC as its a 'heads up' with no prices rather than a specific deal link currently, thanks.

@OP thanks for the heads up

Tbh Im surprised that amazon arent going to just keep selling it themselves since they cant keep up with demand as it is,also surprised that dixons would be doing it cheaper than amazon(even if it is airport branches)

How much cheaper than 109 could they go? And if you bought a kindle from an airport shop and it went faulty would amazon themselves take the return?

Amazon are great to deal with concerning faults with the Kindle , they replace them quickly whatever the problem. I`ve had one for a few weeks - it is a superb bit of kit : )

Aren't the airport shops tax free so would be £109 - tax at least.

DONT like the name tho.

Kindle = Fondle/ Kids!

I take it no-one thinks before they commit.

They announced last month that they will be available on the high st shortly.......its to try and get marketshare i'd have thought.

Its available at Dixons Heathrow, I saw it this week. and you can save about 73 pence over the Amazon price. Wow, whot a deal!

Where as some people shouldn't think at all..

hmm - it would have to be a good deal cheaper to make me buy from Dixons, if anything goes wrong I would rather deal with amazon CS.

Well - they are now in the local Currys store at £119. I know more expensive than the Amazon direct, but the Airport deal at £92 beats Amazon itself.

People didn't want to vote this a few weeks ago and my post was relegated. If you din't want to impress the kids on Christmas Day - I still say I was right, hang back before you buy a Kindle.

Others have shown there is better now out in the market place and we are not even into February yet!

I do not see the Kindle on the Dixons' online shop...Only Samsung, Sony and Real World available. Is it true that Kindle could be found at Dixons Heathrow?
