OFFICIAL VB1 PARCEL THREAD THREAD

Good grief, yet ANOTHER missing post thread?!

Most delivery companies have delays of a few days.

When you looked at the status of your order you did click on the first part of the line? I remember my DHL parcel said it had been sitting in Leeds for an age but clicking on the first part of that line brought up another status page that said it was at my local depot.

im in the south west too, the post was been awful!
im still waiting on items posted on monday. id give a little more time. with the awful weather at the minute everythign has slowed down

3 days isnt too bad, coming up to christmas its extra busy too-and with the added snow

a postie told me they had recruited some certain european people to clear backlog and loads of Amazon items have gone missing.... don't shoot the messenger!

i ordered 30 November and received them on the 12th of december

Btw, your name now needs updating... It's already a year out of date!

I chased up an ebay seller and had a reply yesterday for a non arrived item ordered and sent recorded delivery on the 8th.

Should I start taking legal action, or just send the boys round?

looks like xmas day will be the day after all the presents come...........could be January.8)

Nudez?

Seriously with the backlog of Christmas deliveries, the snow and so many other variables just wait 7 days before you say it's lost.

im still waiting for a amazon delivery from 7th and 9th i assuming its the delivery backlog just hoping they get here in time!

yet a order i placed on 14th from amazon arrived today!

Is that really VB1?

Still waiting on 5 things from Amazon ordered from 7th-9th Dec - all despatched but who knows where they are now. Only one I can track which was ordered 8th Dec states:-

Delivery Estimate - 13th Dec
"Delayed In Transit
Delay in delivery due to external factors - Dec 09, 2010 5:00:00 PM"

Still waiting........

There's a backlog, just wait. I moaned at amazon over a wifi card and they sent a 2nd one out, they both arrived through the post on the same day - no idea how one was so fast and the other so slow but there you go.

Nobody in their right minds waits until 10-15 days before christmas to order important presents online when you consider increased postal traffic and poor weather every year at this time of year.

I'm rather cheesed off with Amazon at the moment, I ordered things last week, mostly just stocking fillers, but also a present for my son's school friend whose birthday party was today. Nothing has turned up even though they were sent "next day delivery" as I have Prime.

I understand with the weather and the time of year things can get delayed but in this case it is obvious Amazon are lying. If the items had been dispatched with a next day delivery service then why is the tracking status "No tracking information"? My guess is either they have not been dispatched or they have been lost.

With the paedophile ebook outrage, Wikileaks, and that it seems any popular item I want to buy from them is only available from Marketplace sellers it makes me feel I won't renew my Prime subscription. Tesco Direct had everything I wanted at good prices and they managed to deliver next day so I don't think I will bother much with Amazon much any more, they really do seem to have lost the plot.

I've got a parcel from Amazon (Due on 4th Dec) that has been sitting in the SW Distribution Centre since the 2nd and shows no signs of wanting to leave Bristol.

Oh know! Does it appear there a lot of light fingered people in the SW distribution centre?

My missing item from 27th November turned up today

Thing is they haveniw sent out a replacement, so question is, am I honest and send it back or just keep it?

But to the op, I'd give it a lot more than 3 days before worrying about it being missing

[quote=VDisillusioned]No Amazon have stopped sending things which would … [quote=VDisillusioned]No Amazon have stopped sending things which would have usually come by special delivery and now use first class. They are phasing SD out of prime, so not exactly next day gt'ed is it anymore.

Well if my orders say "Delivery Option: One-Day Delivery" then they should send them by a service which can actually deliver in "one-day" I don't mind if things are genuinely delayed but if they are lying about the delivery service they are using then that is totally unacceptable. Also if they are scrapping next day delivery for Prime then there seems little point in paying for it.

Im still waiting for a package from amazon that was shipped on 6th December. Do you think its worth ringing my local sorting office see if its been left there?

YES!

loads of people I know have walked out of Swansea Amazon with an Ipod in their socks and a laptop down their jeans!

It's like woolworths pic n mix in there - one for the customer... and one for me!.. lol

As far as I know the SW Distribution Centre is in Bristol and belongs to the Post Office.

tinkerbell28

No I agree I am a prime customer. But that is what is happening, some … No I agree I am a prime customer. But that is what is happening, some depots before others, so some is coming 1st class which is far from gte'd. So where as you will get it in one day VIA sd it's now you should get it on one day via 1st class. They have changed the t&c's too, as 1st class as a delivery option now........

Well it would be professional for them to have told me that the T&Cs had so radically changed. I had noticed that recently parcels were being left on my doorstep by Royal Mail, which is sort of OK being in a fairly low crime area. But I thought I knew what level of service I was going to get for my money when I paid them £50 for Prime when it renewed in September. I won't renew next year.

Edit: I just looked at the Prime help pages and it says about the One-Day delivery service that "Please note: A signature will be required on delivery of your parcel" So wtf are so many of my packages being sent by delivery methods that don't need to be signed for? First class is not signed for as standard. They are saying one thing and doing another. They used to be cool and fresh but now seem to be turning into just another bloated, run of the mill, retailer.

having problems with play and amazon this year...both orders placed on the 3rd - nothing arrived yet

Mine turned up today at 7am and was left in our wheelie bin. 10 mins later i got an email from Amazon explaining the refund procedure

Sadly Amazon are in denial about their problems with Royal Mail - or they do not realise the power of being honest, when you have a problem. Just blaming everything on the weather does not wash.

Duh, It's just dawned on me why it's called "One-Day" delivery, because one day it might come - maybe one day this week or next week or the week after that or maybe one day next year!
