hi
i was interested in taking up the one month free trial of amazon prime but was wondering if anyone can help with the following that i read in the terms and conditions:

''Promotional Trial Memberships
We sometimes offer certain customers various trial or other promotional memberships, which are subject to these Terms except as otherwise stated in the promotional offers. Trial members can at any time (through Your Account) choose not to continue to regular annual membership at the end of the trial period. You can cancel your promotional membership in Your Account at any time before you or your registered guests have made any eligible purchases and we will refund your full membership fee. ''

Does this mean that i can only cancel without being charged if i have not made any eligible purchases ie: not actually made use of amazon prime?

yes that is what it means, if after the trial period, you forgot to cancel the membership and you were automatically billed for the next year. you can cancel the subscription and get your money back provided you have not enjoyed and promotional benefit of amazon prime, that is you have not used amazon prime for any of your shipping.

I was automatically chaarged for the amazon.com prime membership, but i cancelled and i got my money back.

Thanks. But say i signed up to the free trial, bought an item and got it delivered using prime, then before my free trial was finished i cancelled, would i be charged because i had used prime for delivery of that item?

Thanks Guys!!!

yeh im useing the prime time trial to get all my bluray movies.

On the subject of AP. Ordered something on the 7th that was oos. Was in stock yesterday, sent today with an expected delivery date of the 17th by RM standard..... Not exactly next day. Don't think i'll be continuing after the trial. Was tempted to as it's not bad at less than £5 a month for next day delivery with no mov.....

How do you take up this trial?

Hey. If I were to sign up for this free trial, will they charge me (i.e. take £49 from my account and then return the money when I cancel before my trial ends). Basically, I'm interested in buying just one product, so if I sign up to Amazon prime, I intend to cancel the free trial as soon as the item arrives...

They won't take any money at all, when you start the trial you can go in to the Amazon prime settings in your control panel and there is an option to disable prime after the trial ends, so long as you do this you won't be charged.
