Amazon prime tv. How to get it?

Dose anyone know of a way to get amazon fire tv? I have an old panosonic tv that the firestick won't work with. No sound is the problem. My TV is also not on amazon's list of supported sets although I did try a fire stick. I managed to get sound once but it never returned no matter what I did. I think it's hdmi detection not hand shaking correctly. Our USB Media centre, dvd players ect all worked fine though through tv hdmi. What ever we get It would need to be kid friendly so have a remote control. We have a amazon prime subscription trial that has been extended for another month but no way of using it. Very frustrating. I have Googled problem but no solution found

IM not quite sure what your question is, from reading this Your TV doesnt support the Amazon fire stick, so the answer must surely be you need a new TV or have i missed something?

Are you asking for other ways to access your account other than the fire stick? If so, you can access your amazon prime TV account through media players such as PlayStation, Xbox, laptop or phones/tablets.

Really need to know which other devices you have (if any)?
Media centre to tv?
Android box?

Got a android box coming this week which I hope will work. Maybe I can use that? Need a remote as not letting kids using a smartphone to operate it. Our media player is just a Dum USB stick player. We have cable TV with virgin and that's about it .Not swapping 42 inch plasma TV though, as works great all be it we can't connect it to Amazon tv

Only way to get firestick to work was to power up then plug into TV hdmi. I had sound, but if I turned off or changed channel I lost sound across all devises, internal freeview. Cable. Dvd. All quiet with no way to get sound back other than pull firestick. Was a nightmare messing with it. Spent hours on it. Gave up.

This might sound daft but does your old tv have more than 1 HDMI slot? If it does try the other slots, on some old sets HDMI 1 is for a set top box, HDMI 2 reserved for ARC and HDMI3 for DVI that was the "norm" for older sets but off course has been many differences.
If you have an AV receiver with an HDMI input plug the firestick into it and that will work. Otherwise personally I'd be buying a new cheap telly rather than throwing money at devices as everything that I can think off require the same tech in your telly.

I tried every hdmi port. Turning firestick and TV off and on every time. Tried all 4 audio settings on firestick, the dolby ones. I don't understand the many tv audio settings. Pcm I think it was called plus bitstream. And a fix option? Bit beyond me but I did mess with them. The only possibility I could find was a hdmi switch as that may have fixed the hand shake conection although I could not confirm this reading on net. I'm hoping amazon launch a new firestick soon or I may stump up £70 for the fire box as that may work.. Thanks for replying though.

Get a Roku LT box, it will let you connect to a TV without using an HDMI socket by using a composite (red, white and yellow) cable. That's what I do, works great. You get access to Amazon Prime TV, Netflix, Now TV, BBC iplayer, and hundreds of other channels, many of which are, admittedly, useless. But it's a great box.
