Amazon Prime Video now HTML5 so works with Apple laptops in Safari with no overheating

Just a heads up for Amazon Prime Video uses who use Safari on MacBooks and MacBook Pro "Silverlight" is no longer required so it works great. Amazon Prime Video is now HTML5, about time too.

I have tried it on rMBP 2015 and no more overheating or fan (I understand MacBooks don't have a fan) in Safari - appears to be 1080 despite this article-

Interesting thanks. I am still annoyed my newish Samsung telly no longer supports the Amazon app, or is it Amazon doesn't support the Samsung app. Either way, it doesn't work anymore ( it was great when it did!) and I don't fancy dropping 75 notes on a Fire TV. ( want wired ethernet, so not interested in Fire Stick )

Maybe there's a firmware update for it?

Yeah, done all the firmware updates etc. Dont make me look behind the telly for the model. It's a 46" smart samsung with freesat and normal telly. It also had 3D etc.. it wasnt cheap. Bought it about 3 years ago. The amazon app ( was love film at the time ) worked well.. then it stopped. It loads and opens, and you can navigate content, but video doesnt play. It's a known issue and we hardly watch amazon video now. Wife is not happy with boxes sprouting around telly so now I just stream from a network drive ( using built in media player on tv ).
