Amazon return/exchange policy

Found 10th Jun 2010
Just wondering what amazon's return and exchange policy is. If you're returning for a refund do you just pay the return postage?

For an exchange do you again just pay to send the item back?

i think it depends on why you are returning the item. amazon will cover all postage if the item is faulty / wrongly described etc. if you are returning because you have changed you're mind, you'll have to pay the cost of returning in most cases.
For a refund where you simply don't want the item you can usually opt to either post back at your own cost or you can get a prepaid label from them the cost of which is taken from your refund. For posting back a game Amazon charged me 1.69 which is a bit pricey but for an 8kg book it was just £2.50 and they picked it up from my door.

I'm not sure about exchanges though as I haven't used that service.

If you can find the item cheaper elsewhere and send them the link they will pay for return postage.
