As per title my partner ordered a Honor Band 6 but received a heart rate monitor (chest strap one)

She returned to Amazon however they've now emailed her to say she's returned the wrong item and won't send a replacement or refund until she does the item, speaking to chat is no help as they just seem to copy/paste generic response, any had this before with Amazon and offer any help.

the band was only £30ish not not going to break the bank, but still not the point

Did you speak to customer service before returning the item?

I always chat with them before returning - avoids grief that way

You sure you're not talking to the chat bot? Human support usually almost always be overly generous if you are genuine.

I heard calling up gives even better results, as I assume they can pick up on how polite you are and that you aren't lying, etc.

I never send stuff back without Amazon stating in the email it’s the wrong item of damaged.
O yes I don’t trust them / or anyone to be honest.
Love taking a photo as proof also.

Yep 100% she also got an email after saying they won't discuss the matter any further in a matter of words (edited)

Had something similar with a printer I ordered from amazon warehouse. I ordered a higher spec printer but though the box was correct inside was a much lower spec basic printer that was missing cables and toners. I took photos of the box it came in and the serial number of the box and the printer as well as model numbers. When the item was sent back amazon said it was incorrect item so I contacted customer service (phone call) and explained. They asked for copy of photos I took and decided was genuine and sent a refund. Hope you get it sorted.

    Replying to

It was a while ago sorry but I believe the call handler gave me an email address to send to and a reference to put in the subject line. I think I got a response that evening or the next day. Sorry I don't have more details hope that helps.

I’ve seen this many a time..

if I remember correctly, they do usually get solved..

I just can’t remember if it’s by, keeping on at them, or doing a chargeback

I had this from yet another incorrect/junk warehouse item a few months back.

Ordered a Karcher SC5 steam cleaner and what I received was a faulty SC6. Told them this before sending back and they refused a refund on a different model sent back and it "looking well used" (no S**T sherlock). After numerous script readings with numerous call centre irritants I got sent a statement of truth I had to fill in and then I ended up getting a refund.

I won't be buying from warehouse again as it just seems to be junk that people have done a switcheroo on previously.

I recently ordered the redmi note 10 pro and received an electric toothbrush, spoke to customer service and they were great and sent out a replacement straight away and I sent back the toothbrush

Strange to just send this back without confirming with anyone first.

What was the reason used for returning the item?

I feel I’m about to be a victim of a switcheroo. Ordered a Shimano M9120 (right hand) brake lever. Boxed damaged but item good condition. Ordered it item arrived in the correct box that was heavily damaged with tape. Opened it up and found a brand new Lowest of spec shimano M501 (right hand) brake lever. Someone (previous customer) has pulled a switch on this I’m assuming. I’ve sent it back today stating not the correct item. I did contact customer support chat and they just said send back for refund. Reading from a scripts as usual. I’m so glad my missis filmed me opening it.. I swear a lot in the video. Let’s see how this pans out as it was only £65 but if Amazon are doing this all the time I can imagine them making a lot of money out of this by not refunding.
