Amazon Streaming video problems; worse than Netlix, NowTV, iPlayer, BTSport

Using the same PC, browser and internet connection Amazon video is consistently worse than all other video streaming services I have tried.
I get buffering up to 2 or 3 times an hour and it loses audio sync at times which requires stopping and restarting the programme.
I very rarely get any issues with all the other services so am I just unlucky or are others getting similar problems?

I am using a Windows 8.1 PC and Firefox and Chrome.

I had the same, the wifi was just too far away from the TV. I was only on 3Mbps adsl anyway.
I fixed mine by setting up a spare router with wifi antenna right next to the tv and linking it hard wire back to the main modem/router so just using it as an access point.

Strange; Amazon stream in lower quality than the rest too

Never had a problem with mine and I mostly use it on the third floor of our house, the router being on the ground floor.

It's a Virgin Media ~75Mbs connection and the PC uses Ethernet so it's definitely not the internet connection.

Are you using Windows? If so, what browser?

For those getting a good connection using a PC can you say what Browser you are using please.

No issues here.

Same for me and I am streaming straight to a smart tv. Amazon always has problems-Netflix is always fine.

I have problems streaming on my PC in HD too as it tends to play fine but then seems to stutter every so often before losing audio sync (it always recovers but is frustrating when trying to watch anything). My Xbox One and Amazon Fire TV Stick however play videos flawlessly in HD.

Pretty weird, never had a single issue with Amazon video

Opera which is Chrome based

I used to have this problem with virgin media and using amazon video on the TVs over wifi. I used to have to ask everyone to close down any social media apps with video or YouTube/iplayer etc while watching - (family of 5 with smartphones/tablets).

Bought a wireless cable router, tp-link archer 1900 I think, put the virginmedia superhub 1 in modem modem, and on the new wireless router replicated the vm 2g network name and password, and created a new 5g wireless service for the tv (and me :)). Worked a treat

I've now tried IE and so far zero issues but haven't watched much video yet.
Tried Chrome again and that was worse than Firefox with regular audio dropouts but video was okay.
Strange.

IE was solid over 2 hours of viewing so at least I have a solution.
Not a big surprise as there are still a few things that only work properly with IE even though it's market share is relatively low these days.
