Amtico Flooring Fitters

Found 4th Dec 2008
We want to put in about 70 square meteres of Amtico flooring and the fitting is more expensive than the actual product.

Does anyone know any registered fitters who would undercut John Lewis or anywhere that provides free fitting?

Thanks for your help.

Might be helpful if you state where you are.
carpetright were doing these with fitting
Are you sure Carpetright do Amtico?
Sorry, I'm in London, N20 (Totteridge)
I used a company in Southend called Associated Floorcoverings, they may travel.

Superb flooring, nigh on impossible to damage.
Carpetright don't so Amtico
Didn't think so, bit more upmarket than carpetright :-D
70 sq mtrs! jeeez.....that will cost you thousands!

The labour will always be dearer due to the floor preparation involved, adhesive & time it takes to fit!

I used to fit quite a bit of Amtico & Karndean, the floor preparation involves latex screed (concrete floors) or 6mm ply (wood floors) - not cheap!, you also have to use their own adhesive to validate the warranty - not cheap! and you also have to pay us fitters - not cheap!!!

Personally i think it's very overrated and would rather go for a decent vinyl like "Tarket" as it looks great and has a very low fitting cost (£3 - £4 sq mtr)
some fitters here with reviews of their work. Type amtico into the search box
