Hi father has had a G2 for a week and only uses the phone for calls and a couple of google searches, so decided it's too much for him so I will buy it off him and get another for him.

Now he has his contacts with pictures on the home screen and just clicks these to dial out, so would be looking for the same type of thing.

Was looking at the moto e and the Lumia 520 but would like your opinions.

Thanks

My mum had the nokia C3-01 and that can do the whole click on a face at the home screen thing. The phone itself is pretty basic though, just a resistive touch screen, so not great if you are use to modern smartphones, but probably ok for your dad.

Lumia 520 allows you to pin contacts to the home screen so might be the answer. My wife loves hers for this very reason.

Both Android and Windows phone allow shortcuts to direct dial people in your phone book. If calling is the main use then consider a phone with long standby times and call time. Disable the data function to get the best battery life.

Can I ask on the 520 the contacts on the home screen can I have the contacts picture on full size on the tile and clicking this will direct dial the contacts chosen number (either home or mobile) if that's whats been set up, also is there a limit to how many contacts on the home screens that can be displayed (on his G2 he only has contacts on 3 pages

This is just so he can see the contact without trying to read the name and click that tile and it will direct dial without bringing up the contacts info ?

Thanks

On the Lumia you can pin contact but to call you click the contact twice to call, it is fairly straight forward,My grandad could work it out lol.

Windows 8 is great for older people and kids because they're very easy to use and no lag etc very smooth os. Android is confusing in comparison.
