    Annoying problem!

Basically, my speakers are on, there is no other sounds playing from them apart from the click noises from my mouse, and then I get a scramble sound coming from them! It is very annoying!

I believe it could be my drivers, but unsure. I haven't a clue on what make my soundcard is so don't know what drivers to get. Other than that I am miffed!

    Any help appreciated!

When you say no other noises do you mean music etc, but windows noises such as mouse clicks and shutdown still works???

Yea. All sounds are fine but then suddenly I will get some scrambling sound. It'll probably last about 5 mins, then go again

Hmmm sounds more like the actual speaker then the drivers to be honest, em however you may be able to find out what drivers you are using by going into control panel and then sounds and devices (if using XP) it should tell you in there

If you are hearing scrambled sound I think it may be your sound card.

To find out what make sound card you have, hold down the key and press .

Choose the tab and then select .

Look down the list and your sound card will be listed.

Then do either of the following

    1) Search on google for the manufacturer's name and find their website where (hopefully) you can download drivers.

    2) PM me or post on this forum what make & model your soundcard is, and I'll have a bash at finding the correct drivers for you.

PS I assume you're using windows xp?

First of all remove your old driver, I think it will be under properties when you right click on the audio controller on the pic you have posted. Not 100% sure, been ages since I re-installed any drivers to be honest.

True, but quiet often these .exe driver installation programs will remove the old driver.

But you're right, best to remove old drivers first if possible. Sometimes this will be in the "add/remove programs" part of control panel, otherwise you have to right click and select on the sound card using my previous instructions.

Thanks for the rep. Did you get it sorted dude?
