    Another Ebay rant!!

I think I am now definitely going to give up on ebay, at least for the forseeable future!

I have had this same rant before but I am just so peed off right now!

I check my DSR's every day/other day when feedback is received to try and pinpoint where I am supposedly going wrong.

I have been left positive feedback by 2 people, not just like 'thanks' or 'ok', but actual positive comments, and since yesterday I have received a low marking for all 4 of the DSR's.

I post the same day as payment received 99% of the time or the next day (inc Saturdays), and after a bit of a hoo ha over postage on DSR's I have stripped my postage costs back, if I have charged more than 20p over actual costs (once weighed etc) I will refund the excess. I also have not had a single buyer come to me saying that an item was in any way defective/rubbish/dirty etc, etc!!

WTF am I doing wrong?? Is it me, or is it buyers?

Also, once an unpaid item case is closed, is somebody able to leave DSR's? Only the one buyer I may have annoyed is somebody who had an unpaid item case closed against them! That is a whole other point too. In my whole time selling on ebay I have only had to open 3/4 unpaid item cases before this month. Yet this month alone I have had to open 4!!

    Rant over!

    Are you 100% positive?

I used to know a guy who wouldn't ever + feedback anyone, and genuinely didn't see the point in it. He only ever gave out negs, and at that, sometimes just to hurt the seller for no reason.

Some people are just pathologically unpleasant towards others. Don't let them get you down.

About what, when the dsr's were left? If so, yes am certain, checked my DSR's yesterday. Had 3 lots of feedback left today, all positive, but a low mark on each DSR!

I now have 3 low marks on dispatch time, and P&P costs! I don't really care about P&P costs one as people expect you to deliver a 99p item weighing 4 kg for free, but am sooooo upset about dispatch time as I never ever post any later than the next working day!

I wondered if it was something like that, because surely if I had done something wrong they would start a dispute or at the very least message me!

Its you, your to obsessive about it

I used to be worried about anything negative on ebay but I soon woke up to the fact that half the idiots who use ebay either don't read the feedback or buy regardless of what it says if the price is right. WTP is right you are worrying about nothing, there is little you can do about it anyway, just let it go.

    Ahh, well job done

The buyer who didnt pay cant leave bad feedback or low DSR's,look on your dashboard and run a few reports,it's entirely possible to pinpoint exactly which buyer left bad star ratings

put 100 x 99p auctions up I'll buy them all then leave you 5 star, then you refund me £100

Find 10 feedback which have left you 5 out of 5 on all stars, run reports by item numbers,

once you have 10 x perfect star ratings add the 1 you think has left low stars and the report will show exactly what star rating they left, stars aren't anonymous at all regardless of what ebay trys to tell you

ok, just off to list em all now

Some buyers just have no idea, had a buyer, well a non buyer, couple of days after auction ended they asked could I cancel transaction as their husband had bid thinking item would be suitable for them but it wasn't,so within 1 hour I replied no prob and cancelled it,

I was stunned days later when I checked reports,3 stars for most things and 4 for comms from them,

I asked what they did that for,the reply...

well I felt I had to leave feedback as you were so helpful,I couldn't comment on how quickly you sent the item,if desciption was correct, etc so I left 3 which is not a bad rating,it is neutral,I left 4 for communication as you replied to me quite quickly oO

As a buyer I always leave 5 if the item is anything above good, if it is alright I will leave 4/5, I will not leave anything lower unless they are a really bad seller, there is no need, that is what feedback is for. If you are going to leave positive feedback then ebay should not allow you to mark lower than a 4 star dsr. If neutral 3-4, and only 2 and under if you are leaving negative. Otherwise, what is the point in running dsr alongside feedback!!

My other gripe is p&p costs. If you think p&p costs are too high, don't buy the item, it's that simple. When buying I factor p&p costs into the overall price so if I win an auction for £0.99 with £3.00 postage, the item costs me £3.99, not £0.99 and then whinge about p&p costs! I have bout things and paid £2.50 for p&p, when I know it's only £0.96 to post, I don't care how much someone is charging me for p&p, if I want the item that much I pay it. If I don't want to pay excessive p&p I just don't bid.

    Essay over!

^^^^^^ I agree , i always give 5 stars at the lowest 4 ( very rarely only if postage has took a little longer ) but with everything i buy whether it be ebay, here, online stores i always add the p&p to the total to determine if a bargain or not , it amazes me how many people just jump in and then moan about p&p or delivery afterwards
