Another engagement ring question

Found 3rd Aug 2010
How easy is it to get a ring resized and how much does it cost?
What is the average size?

My other half is about 5'5" - 5'6" and slim with small hands
I think she is an L1/2 but i dont know (we jokingly measured with a ring sizer a very long time ago and i think that may be what she was)

does resizing affect the rings worth?
I want to get the ring but am unsure of the size.. what do you reckon i should do?

lol OP get down to the jewellers and get properly measured - after all its for wedding bands and you want them to fit properly!

The jeweller where we got mine resized it for nothing, and will also do so as many times as we need, both up and down.
It took about 3 days I remember; as far as I know it doesn't change the value, unless I guess if you bought a huge size which needed a big chunk taking out to make it fit. We used a local firm with only 3 branches and they were very helpful. If you used more of a chain I don't know how they would be. Go in and ask when you find something you like, that's prob the best plan.
If you are talking about wedding rings, do you know what size her engagement ring was?

Buy a ring sizer and try them on her when she's sleeping.

Sorry i say wedding, i meant engagement!
She is currently working in Venice and will be until October and i want to surprise her, so no chance to measure!

Surely she'll have a couple sitting around the house; i.e jewellery box or something? that you could nab and take into julers and ask the size of that? Anyway all the best to you.

She doesn't wear rings! its a bloody nightmare i tells ya!

My wife just got a ring made bigger and it cost £47!

Hi, we got my ring resized and cleaned because it was a family ring and it cost £20 from an independant jeweler. If you are buying the ring new then most jewelers will normally swop the ring for one that fits, if its an older ring , its advisable to use an independant jewelers as they take more care. Failing that buy a cheap ring and chose the engadgement ring together, good luck

You should give her a plastic ring or a sweetie ring and then go out and buy the engagement wan together. She might slap you but would make for a good thread on here.

so basically its not that bigger deal if it is the wrong size as its pretty easy to ammend?
I mean I dont think i will be too far out with an L1/2.

Ooh very nice - wish you all the best and keep us all posted on it.

I've got a good ring sizer I can send you if you gimmie your address! you can do it while she's asleep!

Also, if shes in middle of a size, get a size bigger, as it's alot cheaper to get it reduced then it is to get it enlarged!
