Just a bit of fun, a follow on from the members who were intrigued with the water fill up photo earlier, which again was/is ancient

I have seen this before but i cant remember the answer. Really good illusion.

Don't ever call a dog "Syndrome", especially if it jumps on furniture.

Cover over a majority of the lower portion of the image (so only the upper can be seen).
Count the (upper) ends of the bars.

Then cover the upper portion, & count the lower ends of the bars.

    Is it a cat?

7 on the top, 8 on the bottom.

I am not one for fighting. I dont like confrontation and will only engage when i have to. FP can win this one.

    Six

trick with this one is how you define 'bar' in this case. I define it as having at least 6 visible vertices, ergo there are 7 bars.

    I blame the BBC

6, two are merged together and are not whole.

    And Brexit. Don't forget Brexit.

    None.

5 from the top and bottom 1,so 6. The rest aren't complete.

I figured out that the answer is the sum total of the number counted by computing the data, but I reckon that it's a waste of time, and in addition, who cares?

    One in each bar?

    Cat in a box?

    Seven and a half.

    whiteston

    Seven and a half.

    Is that bars or cm?

    Oneday77

    Is that bars or cm?

The average of each end counted.

Similar answer to the question of how long is a piece of string?

    A. Twice the length from one end to the middle.

I'd say its a photoshop job...

The correct answer is 6 complete bars, with the rest drawn incorrectly:
