As per title.

Where in the country are you from and any decent roads/runs you are aware of?

Matlock Bath has good runs.
This is my Goldwing 1200. Now 33 years old. Owned it for 25 years. My first bike was a Honda NSR125r .Had other sports bikes, Honda VFR 750 and a Kwak ZXR750 but they gave me dead wrists. Also had a Goldwing 1500.My worst was a Honda Pacific Coast, horrible , slow & 2up was a snails pace.

Not a biker.
Not got the ride lately.
Had a few decent rides but not the sort to kiss and tell.

Cat and fiddle road in Derbyshire is an excellent ride, very very twisty. Limited to 50mph nowadays but that is still to fast.

Ye 50 is plenty! isn't it still the most dangerous road in Britain?
Pretty much anywhere in the peak district is a nice ride to be fair.

Yes, most dangerous road in Britain. Peak district is nice ride and pretty well anywhere in North Wales too.

Well worth the ride out, but take it easy.

This is my current bike, Bandit 650. I only have this now as I can, if need be, get back home to Liverpool on it. Most of the bikes I have owned have been trail bike, I love going off road.

Nice bikes, the Goldwing looks mint for its age.

I had a '99 speedtriple that I'd had for about 9 years. I traded her in back in April for a 2016 Speed Triple R. Amazing machine, still not had the balls to open her up properly.

Currently on a Kawasaki ER-6F, not mine but this one https://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDgwWDY0MA==/z/5w4AAOSwiONYKwK8/$_86.JPG
Mine has a big box on the back as its used daily as my commuter. Had it around a year and was on a Honda CBF 125 for about 3 years before that (planned on having that for just a year but being a HOTUKDEALer I just couldn't give up its 120mpg!)

Thanks, I try keep it in top condition.
In my days of sports bikes and stupidity I pushed 144 with a pillion. Glad we survived to feel the Adrenalin but I admit it was stupid .

Yeah, I wouldn't do that with a pilly. I think I'd probably bottle it on my own up to that speed lol

Other half has a CBR125R which she is learning on, she is quite tall so the bike is a bit small for her, tried out a CBF and was surprised how much bigger it felt.

20 years ago, there wasnt so much traffic on the motorway. Probably wouldnt have the space to do it these days. I live in France now and the motorways are still a joy.

The yorkshire loop was one of my faves a good 98mile ride, or the Loop from Leeds to Whitby, down to scarborough on the A171 and back.

Be careful many of the roads are lined with dry stone walls which aren't very forgiving (and ended my riding career).
Ride Safe!

I would looooove to learn to ride a bike though I wouldnt know where to start ha!

Get yourself booked in for a CBT at your local school, Usually around £100 ish. You'll love it!

There are a few options that Include CBT ( Compulsory Basic Training) . you can learn with a school by the hour or say a 3 or even 5 day course. They are expensive but a quick route to getting your license . I dont know how much they are these days but I paid about £350 for a 3 day course 25 years plus ago plus about £60 for the CBT. So you can probably double that I'd imagine.

Mine a few years back was £800, that was a day training, half day plus mod 1, another day training then half day plus mod 2. Failed mod 2 first time so had to pay another paid another £150 on top for another half day and the test again (it was about 2 degrees C and I had new huge gloves on and couldn't feel my indicators!)

A few of the bikes i've owned over the years RGV 250, ZXR 750 h1 & L1, ZX7r, Triumph T595,R1. Jacked it in now & bought a T4. X) Would love another RGV happy days.

God where do you live. Test centres where I live do it in one or two days. Where I did it it's £75 for the day, £20 to hire a bike and if you don't pass you get the next attempt half price. There is another local place that does a two day course that's abit more but with a free day if you don't pass.

Edit; oh are you talking about the full license?

You need to do the CBT, then mod 1 and mod 2 to be able to ride any bike. I would probably do the theory test then do an intensive course over a week.

Get it booked in now whilst the weather is still good, nothing as disheartening as doing lessons in the rain although it does give good practice.

You wont look back once you're on 2 wheels. Plenty places to go and new people to meet.

Bike community is great, random people invite you on ride outs and nobody cares if you are new.

Oh and nodding.

LOL. I remember when I first started biking, who are these people that know me I was thinking until you end up like a nodding dog yourself. I did notice that when I lived on the outskirts of London it didnt happen.
My Wing arrived by trailer to my house and then bikes just started pulling up and chatting, made some instant friends and if you're ever stuck out on a ride there will always be a house to crash at.
