    Any bird watchers on here?

This is probably a really stupid question but everyday for the past week I've seen these 4 green birds when I leave for work at 5.30, they live in a tree behind my house. I've never seen this type of bird before it's green quiet long and thin and makes a high pitched loud noise, and they always fly together in pairs or as a four.

Any ideas what they could be? Just curious.

    Thanks

Will look at any bird that walks by the window if she's nice :-D

Edit - they sound as though they may be woodpeckers. we have several near work

Where do you live ? There's some tropical birds, that escaped from a zoo near me 3 years back or so and since multiplied, so I see them quite often now.

Sounds like a parrot to me.

Could be if Kelly lives in Australia

Since that story was from 2004 the population may well have trebled or even more by now

They sound like love birds...I used to have a pair of them & they make a very high pitched noise
    Maybe escaped from somewhere

I was going to ask if you were SE London or NW Kent!

I think it's 99% certain your birds are Parakeets as you suspect.

We probably see more of these in our Garden that any other bird, which may be a bit of a surprise to most. At one time, we counted 23 of the noisey blighters!

You have the Ring-necked parakeet problem, they have been in the bigger parks in your area for the last 20 years... There are also blue-crowned parakeets in the area from Brazil!
I hope you don't have any fruit trees or grape vines in your garden, they will land in a flock and strip the thing bare given the chance!
My Mum's has had a couple of dead ones in her gutter during the winter, the local crows ripped them apart before I had a chance to get rid of them!
They look nice but are real pest and have got out of control... local Legend says they escaped during filming the African Queen in the 50's.

I live not too far from you and see them all the time in my garden for the past 4-5 years, like others have said they would be Parakeets.

Yep just googled it and that is definitely the one, I thought they were really rare for some reason  I don't have a garden so I'm ok on that front... will be sure to check that gutters though.
