Tried to get into bios on boot up but still no joy from keyboard. So then i tried a usb keyboard, No luck. Also took hdd out and run Malw2arebytes on found 44 infections then replacced.Tried resetting the cmos Nothing it now just say reset cmos press f1,f2 cannot keyboard not working, Also tried to replace keyboard with another one which is working from a simpler advent anyone out there got any ideas??????????/ HELP

then why you don't reinstall the window then

Is there a PS/2 port on the laptop, if so, have you tried a PS/2 keyboard? If using USB, USB Legacy Support may not be turned on in BIOS which you can't access.

No there isn't a ps/2 port on the laptop

Have you got a USB drive that lights up on power? Just to see if there is actually power getting to the USB ports as most laptops cannot have the USB keyboard support turned off in the BIOS

Have you tried removing the battery to completely reboot it ?

think there is power getting to usb port when i boot up laptop with the usb keyboard pluged in the lights flash on the board then go off, Tried rebooting with the battery out( or do u mean bios battery?)

    Meant the main battery.

What happens if you reboot it with a CD in its drive ?

yes booted up with battery removed and then with battery and hdd removed still keyboard not working

All viruses removed? Download Hitman Pro and do a run of that, it's a multi cloud AV scanner which is extremely effective at removing viruses, try in safemode if you can get into that.

can not get into save mode bios nothing keyboard not responding

have you tried putting in a diffent HDD and confirming that the keyboard and trackpad then operate correctly? [e.g. try putting in the other disk and then use a Windows installation disk to see if it starts the process correctly with a functioning keyboard and mouse]

at least then you know it is a virus issue not a hardware problem

pre scanned the hard drive on another pc,tried a working keyboard from another advent nothing

but you cant be sure the keyboard from a different laptop, even if it is a similar model, is necessarily compatible so that doesnt really tell you anything. you need to ascertein if the keyboard works so if you put in a windows installation disk you should be able to know if the keyboard is actually wworking aside from the infected hard drive...

Hi sorry didn't come back to you, hate to say it but it is very likely to be a motherboard fault.
