Any ebay advice to save money?

whilst roaming the hotukdeals site i came across various suggestions on how to keep ebay costs down (especially relating to photo insertion fees). Would it be possible to have a "sticky" or forum or even thread for suggestions where ebayers have come across money saving or even time saving ideas?

Just a thought...

HIya,

Not nocking the idea or anything like that, but just incase anyone doesn't know already, there are many forums on the Ebay Community full of buyers & sellers all helping (arguing ) and giving out this kind of advice.

But you can never have enough pointers

random one: If you wanting to list things on ebay, the most 'buyer friendly' times to make sure your auction ends is Wednesday & Sunday Evenings. Don't ask me why

Also, make sure you check the fee's sliding scale for listing, I see so many people list an item for £5.00 when they could have saved on fee's if they had listed at £4.99

Instructions on how to insert extra pics at no cost.

There's also a handy calculator for fees and such.

Here's the correct link: ezaytools.co.uk/

snap lol

Another way to keep your costs down is say you want to sell an item for £20 sell it for a penny and put the postage at 19.99... Downside if buyers arent awware looks a little odd and may fend off buyers

Also against eBay rules I think...

I honestly wasn't aware of that....
me bad

Yeah its against there rules as its seen as fee avoidance.

They state something like you can ask for a 'reasonable' shipping price.

Like everything on ebay, you can do it, and they won't do anything about it, unless someone else Reports you, which they do, often, lol.

yeah I had a double wrist slap for trying to sell Dell OEM disks, in the end had to take some micky mouse question and answer session before i could sell anything else... I still maintain as i paid for the disks with hardware i should have the right to sell but hey ho

Lol, I've not had the 'mickey mouse test' yet.

i suppose i was looking for a top ten list from experienced users - i've got quite a few anyway - thanks
PS the timing thing Wednesday and Sunday, thanks i will try as i normally list on a thursday (mainly as a don't work Fridays and it gives me the opportunity to send eveything off)

Not using paypal is another one... makes it a pain but they are winning all ways sting you on ebay fee's then on paypal fee's on top..
