I've considered it but it just sounds a bit lame - I have lived in London forever and have seen it from Canary Wharf which I found quite boring

From Tower Bridge walk up the southbank by the Thames nice walk about 30 mins to theTate Modern Art Museum on the southbank. Free entry, Have a look around the modern Art then have a coffee on the balcony restaurant watch the sun go down.

    +1

What about Windows on Park Lane, get decent food and a stunning view of the park.

or Thai Square, I love the food their and it's a bit quirky with the dungeon bar and huge doors, or there is Comedy Club or Jazz Bar Club 49 (decent jazz music)

There is LOADS to do in London

I was living in London 5 years before I sucked it up and went on the eye when my mum came to town and I was taken a back, thought I had seen it all but really was spectacular, plus if you lived there so long it'll give you a completelty differnt perspective, lots of places you take for granted suddenly fall into place like a jigsaw.

What about some of the museums, I love the history museum, always good fun.

Checkout Time Out London or your local mag, our Richmond one always has events, restaurants, etc listed to try, off the beaten track stuff that you either ignore or don't know is there and all local.

Bangla town: Brick Lane. root-master.co.uk/ have a vegan snack while sitting on a big red route master bus. All the tables are candle lit. They have the most awesome slabs of chocolate cake. Just around the corner from this courtyard are art galleries and various shops/ sheesha - juice bars.

    Barbican Centre: barbican.org.uk/
Barbican Art Gallery is open late every Thursday until 10pm

Take an evening stroll up to the old observatory at royalparks.org.uk/par…rk/
have a nice sit down at the top and admire the amazing view that stretches right across London.
hope some of these ideas will help:)

Thanks everyone, some good ideas there.

Now, if everyone could just send me £1 each, then I could maybe afford the helicopter tour

You don't have to dress up for Rootmaster, its all casual. Have a great time

Went and saw Priscilla Queen of the Desert at theatre, so as long as you are open minded well worth a look, even for a straight guy like me lol

Camden market is always a good day, especially when it's sunny. As is the park and canel next door!

I was in London last weekend for my birthday, and we hadn't planned anything other than a mooch down camden market, our hotel room had a copy of the Time Out guide, which had listings for all types of events catering to all budgets and tastes.
Was great to see that whatever your taste in music, however left field it was catered for, unlike my home town which just does Chart dance and RnsoddingB music.

My boyfriend and i go to comedy clubs quite a bit and always have a fab night - there are loads about but we go to one on Villiers St

some alright suggestions, i'll post in here so I can find this thread again. Where can I find out about comedy clubs
