Any help with BMIbaby flight charges?

My friend is booking a holiday to Newquay from 18th July to 24th. He doesn't have a car or anyone to drive him. He doesn't want a long coach/train journey so is flying inland from Birmingham to Newquay (or may be East Midlands actually).
Anyway, when he looked at the prices, without the added on fees it's about £40 each way for the 2 adults (and they have a 4 year old and baby) but when all added up is about £300!!

Is there any way he can lower these or another airport etc where it will cost less?
Many thanks in advance for your help x x x

use could go through Quidco but you only get £4 back so nothing really

Depends what the charges are for? Is there a charge for certain methods of payment, i.e. visa or mastercard? Ryanair do this but by law they need a free option, which is pre-paid mastercard. If the added fees are taxes, there's probably not alot you can do about it...

Yeah I think he said they were taxes, he said it was £40 extra per suitcase so any extra clothes he's going to courier them down I think!! (Would cost about £25 less than flying them there lol)
He didn't really tell me the taxes he just asked if I could find them cheaper. I don't know anything at all about flights etc as I've never flown, so was hoping there'd be someone who flew a lot who knew how to deal with it all!!

Which airport was that out of though and via where ? Bristol ?

    One other option...

Why does your friend not get the train down to Exeter/Plymouth and then have a over night stop over somewhere? then get the train down to Newquay the following day..

or... one other option....... Whats the reason your friend whats to go to Newquay for ?? Why not look at another place which more fits his travel needs...?
