Any help/advice with getting into a safe

    Nothing criminal, before anybody asks.

My Mum has a safe which she keeps her valuables in, however has forgotten the code after not using for a long time. It's the default code as was never changed, but every code is different.

Problem is the booklet has gone missing which had the code in and also one of her grandkids (don't know which one) had peeled off the sticker with the serial number on, which was on the safe. If she had the serial number the company can help but without the serial number, and booklet she is pretty much screwed!!

One of her work colleagues said that because it is part electronic then there should be some kind of override in case of technical failure.

So my question is, does anyone have any idea what kind of override it would be?? I think it is a centurion safe, or at least has 'cent' in the brand name.

It is most definitely her safe, nothing illegal, it is screwed into her floor with 12 inch bolts from the inside of the safe, she has the key but it cannot be operated by the key alone.

She has a rough idea of the numbers, there is 5, and she can definitely remember 4 of them, the 5th is a number my dad seems to recall. Done a number permeator to get all possibilities and there are over 100, can only try 3 at a time before it locks out for a while, but if the 5th number is wrong then obviously it's a waisted exercise anyways.

Any advice would be really helpful.

ps. wouldn't be able to 'bust' it open in anyway before anyone suggests it, there are 3 metal rods which lock it which are about 5cm in diameter.

an angle grinder would easily work

No one is going to get into that without the code, there won't be an override otherwise it'sa pointless safe. I'd have a bash at the combinations for starters and noting down what you have tried.

Yeah she is doing that at the moment, the override thing was mentioned by her colleague who's safe was similar (digital code pad & key lock) and he said there there is usually a built in override mechanism just in case of a power failure, or if the circuits go on the fritz.

When the lights start flashing, the shutters start to lower and you hear sirens it's time to get out.

    no, it's true

Seriously, how will a locksmith gain entry to an electronically locked safe?

Google says if you contact the makers they may have a rest code, but you would have to prove it is yours and without a serial number I doubt whether they'd believe you anyway.

well I have been googling away, and apparently most with electronic keypads, have some sort of reset button inside, problem is, coz it's bolted to the floor, no way to get at it......:(

Got a safe with an electronic keypad and a key. Similar to this one, the middle panel snaps out to reveal the key slot.
