I've always thought 10p listing only makes a major difference if your a business or sell lots of items on ebay in one batch.

Could be wrong here, but I think many items are only 10p to list as standard now, with the trade-off being that Ebay take a bigger cut of the final selling price than they used to (typically about 9% now I think).

I only tend to list auction items with a low starting price (under £10), and all my auction listings have cost me 10p over the past couple of months.

Same goes for any "Buy-It-Now" listings I've done, including a couple of more expensive items with a "Buy-It-Now" price of over £100 (these have still only cost 10p to list - excluding extra fees for multiple pictures etc.).

I'm pretty sure that in the past it was 15p to list an auction item starting at 99p or less, 20p for an item starting between £1 & £4.99 etc.

or you can always put a high postage and low starting bid and write in your auction "just keeping selling fees low"

ive done it once before i wrote the item as 1p buy it now and 97.99p postage.

That's known as circumventing fees, if eBay catch you at it they'll remove your listing/ban you & while most buyers probably don't care, 90% of people who are new to eBay/don't get it will run a mile from your listing.

Off topic but has anybody else noticed this....

Prepare for more catagories to go the same way as ebay forces everybody onto paypal only as a payment method to get an even bigger cut of your takings. The reason this change is a windup for me is that I was looking for another console BUT being savvy in the ways of ebay I would only do a personal collection. No seller in their right mind would allow that with a paypal payment....

When I bought something I used another company that the seller instructed me to use, however when I added on my listed Google checkout also accepted I had my listing deleted!!!
