Any ideas on why my wee cat doesn't Purrh anymore

Noticed that I haven't heard my cat purrh for about 2 months now. Is this normal, he's quite affectionate but not a lap cat (won't sit on your knee) other than the purring thing I think he's ok (I hope)!

No cat lovers on board tonight

I caught him shi**ing in my garden, so I ripped him a new one.

Thanks for the link. Had a look and it seems they were referring to older cats who stop purring which they say is normal but my wee cat is only 8 months old

how old is the cat? Apparently it's quite normal for an older cat to stop purring or maybe it has gotten quieter, next time you are stroking him put a finger on his throat and see if you can feel any vibrations. If you are at all worried a visit to the vets will put your mind at rest.

Already thought of that Jonny. thanks

I've heard that the purrh gland is located in the cats tea towel holder.... put your ear close to this and listen.

Poor thing, did you think you bought a tortoise.

    Nothing to purr about.

O I didnt buy that one, I thought I could save money by keeping toroises and cats in the same house. If only there were more tortoise related help threads on hotukdeals.

No, a likely reason they purr is that their thought pattern is more along the lines of - oh well he's an insufferable p***k but he does know how to open the fridge door.
