anyone?

if a ps2 mouse is plugged in the keyb port some mainbords won't boot, tell her to pull every thing out of the back except monitor and power, then try again.

Get her to sign up to HUKD and I'm sure we could run her through some troubleshooting steps. We would need a lot more information on exactly what is happening and what the machine is doing.

would need a working computer for that ;-)

It could be lots of things, something as simple as the RAM has become unseated during transport, damage due to transport itself, but as csiman said she needs to check it from the very simple things like having everything connected right up to individual components. Chances are it's something really simple, but if you could get as much info as possible from her then I'm sure people on here will help as much as we can.

As maddogb said, get her to plug as little in as possible and see if it boots then. Is the machine running, but nothing on the monitor? That could mean if there's a Graphics card plugged in they have the monitor plugged into the onboard graphics port and getting no signal. Lots of possibilities.

There is a chance there is a software problem. You could try booting off a windows disc which you could send out in the post? Was it up to date with antivirus etc?
