What are the in/out roads like around Scarborough from the north ?

Meant to be going for a Saturday night but as the weather is bad up here (sunderland) not sure what to do

main roads should be ok aslong as we take our time but really wanted to know what the little roads were like around the area?

Cheers in advance

All the main roads into and out of Scarborough are clear at the moment, small roads onto estates etc are slippery packed down snow with ice underneath. Still ok to drive on if you are careful, no major deep snow around. Can't tell you what the weather is gonna do overnight though!

ok thanks for that, so hows the roads from the A171? Getting into Scarborough ? i know sutton bank is closed so will have to take the other route

This was the travel report as of 8th January 2010 7:04pm

Hazardous driving conditions due to snow and broken down lorry on A171 Middlesbrough Road Eastbound between Middlesbrough Road and Gowland Lane. There are blizzard conditions in the area , heavy snow is falling extreme care to be taken and creating deep snow drifts. Vehicles are getting stuck in the snow, especially around the Charltons. Affecting traffic between Cloughton, Whitby and Guisborough.

I know my car is staying put over the weekend, Scarborough grinds to a halt when it snows.

Lol where you going out, Scarborough isnt that good for nights out since one of the clubs closed last year
