Any TV repair people/specialists here please?

Found 5th Aug
I have a Philips 43PUT900/12 which seems to have developed an annoying fault.
The top 1/5 of the screen has gone dark and has intermittent flashing!
It really is bothering me now, I have had a google but can't seem to find a fix.
I can't find a receipt of when/where purchased but am 99% sure it's out of warranty anyway.
Can anyone help at all?
Really don't have the spare cash for a new one at the moment

That is not going to be a cheap or easy fix.

Sounds like the backlight has partly gone. Could be the LCD panel itself which cant be fixed. Replacement would cost way more than you paid for the tv without labour. Could be one of the boards or ribbon cables too.

Another with the same issue here:
ebay.co.uk/itm…u~H

Time to buy another im afraid.

Exactly what I thought!
Now on the lookout for an upgrade then.
If anybody finds one circa £300, please let me know!
Edit: Mine is slightly different to the one you found on eBay.
Mine's not 4k and the screen still works and has a picture, just darker/flickering at the top portion.

If you're on a budget, this is a cheap one you can buy:

Or you can pick a used one off ebay for less than £200 if you're happy with used.

£120.00
£10.68 per month for 12 months
Does ebay allow buyers to pay in installments now?
It's probably a led strip baclight that is failing or has a bad connection, not too difficult to replace from what I've seen on tampatec YouTube channel.
Main thing is the panel is ok and that's the expensive bit. Hope this helps.
Did you order online? If so check your email for keywords such as "tv' 'philips' 'order' in search for all your emails

Time to upgrade to a 4k TV, try to buy from place which offers 5years warrant
Seriously don't get a 1080p in late 2018 since you can get 4k on a budget
If you've got Sky Tv then considering getting Sky Protect, I've had mine a few years now and it's only £3 a month extra to add devices such as TVs and my Samsung has been in for repair a couple of times now which would have cost more than £500 to repair without the warranty from Sky Protect

No sky unfortunately.
Think I just have to face it that a new tv is on the cards.
They don't make things the way they used to! Think I found my order and typically, it's 3 months out of warranty!
