    Any used : Hotels.com -or- Hotelconnect.co.uk ?

Hello, was wondering if anyone has used either of these sites, and are willing to share their experience.

im looking to go Prague soon and was looking around for some good hotels at acceptable prices and came across these sites.

For some reason they appear to be much cheaper to go through rather than going directly to the hotel.

Any help will be much appricated, thank you

also used hotels.com before, too long ago to remember much about it but was no problems

I have used hotels.com back in April this year.

Very good service, no problems what so ever. Good cancellation policy too!

    Hope it helps.

I've always thought that they get a number of rooms at the lower rates to sell off with no hazzle for the actual hotels. Direct with hotels is almost invariably much more expensive and no cashback.

    Don't forget cashback!!

yes, makes more sense now, about to get a family room (for 3 people) and 6 nights for about £340, i think its a great deal!

how does it work? do they send me the paperwork to give to to the reception at the hotel? the last thing i want is to arrive in prague with the family and baggage and to be rejected by the hotel.

i going to make myself look stupid here, but ive never used these cashback sites, but it seems everyones using them, so i will look into them

    Ignore this quoting mess.

Yes, you can join Topcashback (11%) or Quidco (10%) and get cashback from the total you pay to Hotels.com.

You print off the paperwork and take it with you ( we take about 4 copies! to be on the safe side) but every time the hotel has been expecting us and the paperwork has been just a backup.

Used hotel.com in the past with no problems. However, a few months ago i was looking for accomodation for 3 people to stay in one room in the search criteria, got results, went through the list and selected a hotel and when i went to book it, they added £140 odd quid for tax on top of the previous listed price. I rang them up and they said it was a surcharge for the 3rd person. Why this was not incorporated in the previous shown price when the search i did was specifically for 3 people they could not answer, neither could they answer why it doesnt come up as third person additional charge and why it appears as a tax charge. I decided to go and book elsewhere and i got a much cheaper deal. Will not be using them again, but if theres only 2 of you's, then it may well be a good place to look.

dont forget quidco on hotels.com 10%
