    Anybody been to iceland- Reykjavik?

Going on the 13th of October and wondering what are the chances of us seeing the northern lights?

even if we dont get to see it at least we will have been somwhere different. Ice church looks stunning! have you seen the cost of the ice hotel £700 for 3 nights (for 2) in a basic room.

Hi. Found this piece of info on it. Enjoy.

A few requirements: there must be night, a clear sky, preferably cold,
but not too cold. Usually they appear after dinner, beginning around 21:00 and continue to dance past midnight. And sometimes until breakfast.

Iceland is directly below the strongest concentration of the Aurora Borealis annulus – The Green Belt – an oval of cosmic light that circles the earth off axis, favorably in our direction.

going by this you'll have a perfect view of them! Cheers.

thanks steven for the info here's to hoing to see them. The wedding would certainly be different and memorable

Ive been to iceland reykjavik and it was the best holiday ive been on! We were told by the locals that the best chance of seeing the northern lights was to stay in the countryside away from reykjavik. However it wasnt the clearest of nights and unfortunatel we didnt see the northern lights. Still had a great time though... have a good time. Also its not as expensive as people make it out to be. p.s where are you staying?

    Mums been to Iceland:thumbsup:
