Anybody bothered by courier delivery of PC?

I am looking for a laptop and its looking like I might have to buy one from the net but really I don't want to. I can see it now in my minds eye: my last ebuyer delivery as my item smacked onto the road whilst the courier juggled another box in one hand whilst on the phone. He continued to juggle untill than too fell onto the road.

Combine this with my ooooh so delicate treatment of all of my HDDs and you see my dilemma? Also the ebuyer courier depot was waaaay out of my range (no wheels except a pushbike) if I had missed the delivery.

I would pick up from dabs but I can't find their hours...have they stopped their Sales Desk?

If the box looks damaged on delivery... refuse it!!

Most items, esp' laptops and things have lots and lots of protective packaging...

If it doesn't work properly, send it back! (But take photos of the box condition just incase 'Dabs' try anything on...)

How about having "a bad sector" on the HDD....would that contitute reason for returning it? (I am a bit para about bad sectors having had a string of HDD from comet having many bad sectors on).

(Tea time for me now)

Ok thanks that something else to be aware of. Cheers

Dabs have not done collections for about 5 years. I live about a mile from the warehouse and still have pay stupidly expensive delivery costs. I try to use Scan now.

Yeah I can get to Scan via the Blackpool North from Bolton so its convenient too but dabs have a good lookin laptop at the mo. Scans laptops are a bit too pricey for me.
