    Anybody know employment law? Sick pay question

    I broke my leg in 2 places playing football at the weekend and am currently resting at home.

    My employment status is ongoing temporary contract I started with the company in June 2007 so I have 2 years and 2 months service.

    My question is am I entitled to sick pay as the full time employees are?

    I currently have a laptop at home sent by the company and so they are quite happy for me to work from home. But I think they may want me to return next week. I have been signed off by the doctor for 2 weeks and if after Fridays x-ray the doctor tells me to rest up another week then I intend to stay off another week as don't want to hinder the healing.

    What sick pay would i be entitled to, I know full time would get full pay but surely with my length of service I would be entitled to the same?

    Any help appreciated

    anyway because ur on a temp contract and not a permanent contract they are not entitled to pay you....they could even chuck you out tbh

    OP- maybe try citizens advice?

    If they dont pay you need sick notes
    Then you will get Employment support allowence claim with an 0800 055 66 88 number.
    Also clain council tax

    If you go down this route.

    AND go over 13 weeks off look to claim Return To Work Credit its easy to get if you earn take home less
    then £15000.00 a year.
    If you get it you get £40.00 a week for a year to help you back to work and its tax free even if you go back to your old job.
    Plus if your self employed you can get it.

    You are entitled to full SSP same as everyone else.

    Your contractor/agency cannot get out of this because you have a continual contract which has run for over 3 months.

    They are not allowed to do this now.

    Hi, just re-read.

    You wont get full pay, this depends on company policy and your company will be the agency.

    They wont have an extended scheme unless this is an agreement with the company.

    Perhaps worth a check, agency won't want to lose a client over one sick pay issue.
