Anybody know how to get the 4th pin off the CIC chip out? (NES region-lockout chip)

Guy states that a soldering iron isn't that essential.

Now I've stripped my NES down to bare down but how do I get the 4th pin out?

I do have a soldering but the thing doesn't work (teaches me for spending £5.99 for one in maplin lol)

Anyway, whats the next best way of getting it off?

If only there was a way you could search for commonly asked things on the internet.

    That would be so useful...

managed to get it loose lol - was a bit worried as a bit of the plasticy/stuff came out with the clip, used a screwdriver (flathead). was a bit worried when it was buzzing when I put a game in at first and it didn't come up but now i can safely say its working and that it will play US games!

Yay.. I modded a console without breaking it!

    Woo!
