    Anyone a genuis in genetics?

    im frying my brain over this..pls help...............

    if a cell has a diploid of 10 how many double helix of DNA will it have at interphase before DNA replication and then at metaphase 2 of meiosis.

    5. Disregard the additional helix.

    Don't forget to carry the one and show your working...

    diploid of 10 = two sets of 10 chromosomes in the cell. ie 20 chromosomes

    As the cell moves into interphase, these move apart into the 20 chormosomes and divide into 40 to make to two daughter cells.
