Anyone been diving/snorkelling in Sharm El Sheikh with the Ocean College?

Going to Sharm in a few weeks and our hotel has a 5* PADI instructor centre onsite. I don't really fancy scuba diving again as I was badly injured by a Man of War jellyfish when I was younger and that's put me off... Just slightly!!! I was wondering if anyone has been snorkelling and what it was like? We're going with the Ocean College centre and they say you go out on the boats as normal, but presumably with the other divers? Anyone got any experiences?

yeah i went this year in june and the boat trip was great went just off tiran island you do 3 stops for snorkelling and On one of them a did a try dive. On this the instructor take you down but has hold of you at all times. Snorkelling was great sea is really warm and i never saw one jellyfish. there was about 20 people ish on the boat. we also got soft drinks and water included as well as a meal which was great lots of choice especially as your on a boat. sure your have a great time. Oh brill! Thanks, that's really helpful! I was hoping it would be a proper "day out" rather than just us two on a boat! Haha!

sharm is very busy for divers and snorkellers, the water is excellent quality and very warm. There is loads of life, not a lot of jellyfish though. If you are worried, buy a rash vest, they are about £10 and cover your upper half. You will love it, except for the scrum in the morning to find your boat, lol, you'll see what I mean !

if you go a trip advisor and type in ocean college there are lots of good report about them so you should have a great day out. Have a great time wish i was going back

i was in cyprus last summer, there was some padi training available so we did it, was a boat with me and my mates (8 in total), then there was 20 odd snorklers, the diving was amazing made the snorkelling seem **** afterwards lol

Thanks for all the advice! Scuba diving is brilliant, but I'm still a bit nervous just standing on the shore so shoving an oxygen tank on me and putting me with all the creepy fish and telling me I can't come up fast might push me over the edge

just come back from sharm, stayed at tiran island hotel. 5 mins walk to beach which had it's own floating jetty. i've done a bit of scuba in various places world wide and this place took the biscuit. i only snorkelled this time but it was magical. variety and quantity of fish were astonishing. plus sit on the jetty and keep your eyes open long enough and you'll prob see dolphins playing in the bay.
