Instead of buying a new mattress, I got a foam memory mattress topper. Bought it from Ebay and it worked out a lot cheaper than buying a mattress and feels very good. I would recommend getting one at least 3" thick.

The problem with a mattress is that you don't know if it's any good until it turns up and you try it out - then if it's no good you are stuck with it anyway :giggle:

Thus, I am looking for particular mattresses that peeps have actually bought and can recommend.

Have been told this before but I don't actually know anyone personally who's got one and am not quite sold on it

I've recently bought a kingsize reactafoam mattress from benson beds. It was reduced to half price - i paid £350 for it - it came with a 5 year warranty. I must say, you float away on it - fantastic!!!

Hmm, really? Does it have springs too? And what's the 5 year warranty cover?
Thank you

At least with Benson I can go and have a feel befoe i buy LOL!

i can see it on their website, can you haggle in there? Or is that how you got the warranty?

I have just got pure latex ones which are a whole lot better than cheap memory foam as it is a natural product is reduces the sweating factor!!! See dunlopillo site for pure latex.
I am now awaiting a pocket spring with latex on top which I have tried and it is lush!! although they are just trying to make me some to fit an electric bed as they are not really suitable as they are but the latex are meant for the electric beds.

It depends on if you want hard or soft ?

I have been searching and trying beds now for over 2 years and have tried a few so have a little knowledge and have found some bargains too!!!

Let me know what you want and I will try to help.

no springs. Not sure bout whats involved in warranty - have to ask the wife. I previously had a miracoil mattress which cost me £700 6 years ago - It was the worst thing i've slept on. I suffer a little from bad back syndrome - not any more!!!

I haven't really got a clue what I am looking for to be honest.
OH sometimes wakes up with a bad back and he says he prefers firmer mattresses.
Am not sure about full memory foam in case it doesn't give enough support

My OH hurt his back.. a few years ago now... but he still needs a really firm mattress, like an orthopaedic mattress or he ends up sleeping on the floor and not due to arguments lol

Take your hubby with you and have a look round some bed stores so you get some idea of what you like and need babes x
