I've seen a bed frame I like on Groupon. Supposedly reduced from £700 to £200. I intend on buying a quality mattress elsewhere. Has anyone bought a bed frame off Groupon and if so has the build quality been ok? Has it been sturdy?
Many thanks for your time.

sorted byThanks for that. I've only ever bought days out and washing powder in bulk from Groupon. Never furniture. It looks great on the photo but I'm sure the old chestnut to be wary of is "you get what you pay for". Thanks for your response.
Delivery was prompt, the bed was very easy to Allen key together, is very sturdy, and the storage drawers are surprisingly useful. The mattress cover is starting to bobble somewhat, but we've had it for two years now and I chalk that up to having dogs and the fact we wash our bedding every other day.
Obviously we only purchased the one bed, so the rest of their stock could be complete garbage but I very strongly doubt it
Edit= Dead link.

For things like dishwasher tabs or local deals they can be great as you often know the local business in question, but for furniture and electronics I wouldn't go near them.
Hi I’ve just ordered a bed, was looking at what people had to say about groupon... fingers crossed it’s going to be ok, a bit concerned with some of the comments, the last comment is keeping me hopeful.
That’s great, I ordered 3 items at weekend, one was delivered yesterday & I’ve had an email to say bed & mattress topper are being delivered today, if this goes well I’m going to order myself a bed, did you buy a velvet one?.
I mean... The TV mech didn't work when we got it and it all kicked off with the company saying we broke it and then threats of court at one point but I ended up with a full refund and compensation and kept the bed and fixed the mech myself. All's well that ends well
The specifics of the bed you buy will vary dependant on what the bed is and who the company are that Groupon are representing.. I don't think anyone will have the answer you hope for but the returns/refund/customer service department were great for us.
Thanks for that Chris. The bed is through GRS global, a Glasgow company and I can't seem to find much about them other than their website with their full price beds. Fingers crossed it's ok. Thanks again.
That doesn't sound good. Thanks for your response.
I agree. I've bought a couple of things in the past, and my experiences and everything I've heard from friends and colleagues has been that never once has someone felt like they really received a £RRP item. I bought some kitchen stuff for about £15 which was about what you would get for £10-15 from a market trader - but in no way shape or form looked like the £40 RRP or whatever it was supposed to be. I feel like their business model is to draw you in with a supposed big saving, and underdeliver with something that 'just about' might be worth what you actually paid, in the hopes that not too many people feel aggrieved enough to try to force a refund.

Thanks for that it's interesting to hear positive stories of buying inexpensive furniture.
More than welcome
It's the most comfortable mattress myself and my fiancé have slept on, although being a memory foam unit you do get the issue with excess heat in the (very rare) summer months, which we fixed by using an old duvet cover under the fitted sheet
Sounds like the one we've been looking at! Thanks for that it's really helpful.
Thanks for that I may take a look. I do buy stuff from Groupon and have always been happy but not yet purchased furniture.
Thanks for that I'll make sure I don't buy a memory foam mattress I can't stand being too hot! Cheers.
You do realise this thread was last used a year ago !
Hi, I did order one in the end it’s fantastic. Really sturdy and far better than I expected.
Yes a velvet one. Still looks like new and a really heavy piece of furniture. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. I was so surprised at the quality.
It may just be the alcohol...
Unfortunately my delivery isn’t going too good, the courier has only received 2 parts of the bed, I phoned groupon and enquiried about the missing part, they said I would have to wait for the bed to be delivered, then phone to say it had a missing part and then I would have to return it and they would give a refund. I said I’m telling u now there’s a bit missing, I don’t want a bed to be delivered that I have to return, can u not just try and locate missing part & send it out, I was still talking and the woman put the phone down on me.... I can see this being a long process before I get a bed or refund. Customer service is appalling.
That’s a shame. Try phoning up the actual bed seller rather than groupon. See if you get any joy that way. Good luck.
Thank you I will
We're talking about Groupon on here?? Why are commenting on your Ebay purchase?
