You two main options are from Borrowdale and the Seathwaite valley (a bit of a longer walk) or from Wastwater (takes a lot longer to drive to from most places). There are campsites in Seathwaite\Borrowdale and Wastwater, there (was) a camping barn in Rosthwaite in Borrowdale and there is a youth hostel in Borrowdale.

Both options are pretty good (to be honest Scafell Pike is a pretty crap hill but I guess its the highest). My recommendation would be to do it from Seathwaite, go up to Allen Crags then across and go to the top of Great End (a small detour but well worth it).

Wastwater Youth hostel a possibility? Great location.

Also you can pay for your accommodation with Tesco Deals Vouchers.

Theres lots of other YHs in the area too, one at the top of Honister Pass (good for doing Great Gable which is a really good walk), also bigger ones in Keswick and halfway down Derwent Water - you can get a bus down to Seatoller and back from either.

Camping barn near Rosthwaite (went over 10 years ago and was well cool, not sure whats its like now, be warned you will be in a barn with absolute randomers):
