Anyone do weight training?

Hey People....especially you atheletes/ those keen on weight training.

Recently I have noticed quite a few posts on supplements. I have thought about taking Creatine capsules....to add to my training schedule.....

Is or has anyone taken this before...and if so wheres the best place to buy from....There are loads on the well known auction site....does anyone recommend a seller on there?

Also I have noticed they come in various dosage e.g. 700mg etc...Whats the best to take?

Would really appreciate the advice as have been looking into taking this for time

Thanks

Creatanine is the active ingredient. It is produced as a byproduct of muscle useage. It triggers a reaction to increase the work load a muscle can achieve, usually by creating more muscle fibres. Unfortunatley increased levels of creatanine are nephrotoxic i.e. they will kill your kidneys. You may look good for a year or even five, but i guarrentee you will not look so buff to the dialysis nurses and doctors connecting you up to a machine for 5 or 6 hours three or 4 times a week. Hope this helps:thumbsup:

This works by engorging your muscle cells with water. I noticed no strength increase, although it is said to increase muscle endurance in specific circumstances.

The thing that totally killed it is that you have to drink an incredible amount of water, there for I had to get up twice most nights to take a leak! I am sure it increases stress on kidneys too.

In my opinion for increasing muscle mass a high quality protein supplement is most worthwhile. A good whey protein is best.

ask your doctor for advice on this as you need this to be for your body not someone else on here

I thought is specifically did not promote muscle entropy. Muscle size increases are temporary as the cross-sectional area of each muscle fiber increases (it's chemical energy store increases as the cell is engorged with fluid).

Unfortunately a GP will have limited knowledge in the sports science field. They will just say they don't recommend you take creatine.

You would need to go to a specific doctor who is at least sympathetic to the field to get better informed advice.

BG1 would know what to do:thumbsup:

Wanna bulk up? Try this. No creatine required.

8am 50g whey & 100g oats
11pm 250g turkey or beef mince with rice
2pm 2 chicken breasts & 200g of poatato
5pm 250g turkey or beef mince with rice
7pm pre workout whey 20g
8pm post work out shake 20g with 50g dextrose
830pm 2 chicken breasts & 100g rice
11pm 200g cottage cheese or 20g whey in semi skimmed milk

Should grow like a mofo on that

Stick with a general weight gain supplement to start with. Argos had some on offer recently, Pro Power I think Don't know if they're any good..

Don't get the normal powder or tablets, get Cell Tech, proven to work & very good - use it myself

Creatine mono is creatine mono. Cell Tech prolly works quite well as they supply good simple carbs to spoke it into your system.

If you are after cheap whey look at www.sports-nutrition.net and look at their protein powders. They have 10lbs (4.4kg) of their white label whey for £28 delivered.

Hi

Thanks for the response people!

The thing is I'm already taking Whey Protein.....Don't want to gain mass, just thinking to use any other supplement to aid in weight training.

Food and lots of it.

Honestly mate, I body build (i'm 17 stone) and the most anabolic substance known to man is food. I gave you a great example day of eating above.

Supplements supplement you diet. They do not make it up.

Is it? Ah Ok...just read a lot on Creatine and its benefits aids in increasing strength and muscle.

I have limited my diet restricting fat etc...as am also doing cardio to burn off fat! and then schedule my weight training around this.

Eating properly is the best thing you can do, but supplement it with Protein & Cell Tech & you can feel the results

Proper rest and lots of water are very important. Make sure you are not vitamin deficient. Most people who are keen make the mistake of over training when they start out, so make sure you allow adequate rest days, and you get as much sleep as possible.
If you are still sore and you train again, you short circuit the adaption phase (muscle growth due to over compensation).

Creatine was trash for me. All you do is retain water, so if you need to put on 4-6 lbs of water in 10 days, yes then use creatine. Bear in mind the potential kidney issues and limitations listed above.

Which fats are you getting rid of? You need to be consuming essential fatty acids otherwise muscle growth will be hampered. Furthermore, if you are looking to build muscle, you cannot also be looking to lose weight.

To gain muscle you need to be in a calorie surplus. To lose weight you need to be consuming enough protein to hold your muscle but cals below your maintainence level.

Yup....I make sure I stick to a certain regime so I don't overwork certain areas e.g. arms, shoulders etc.

But thanks a lot people...nice to know there are people who do spend some time helping out...

Thanks again! Will look into this again.

if its to aid you while you are actualy lifting (ie to stop fatigue kicking in as quick) id get some taurine tablets and caffeine tablets, before i hit the gym i usually neck some cell-tech copy (asda do a version), 10gm of whey, 2 taurine tabs and a caffeine tab, buzzin like im on speed at the gym and helps me knock out more reps.

Hope that helps
