    Anyone else had this illness?

    Hey

Basically its been happening for around 2 years but before it used to happen like once every blue moon but now its happening like every day or couple of days.(ive made an appointment with the doctor but want to know if anyone else had it)

Each time i get up after sitting down for a lengthy time i feel dizzy and have a black out and my head hurts. The only way i can stop this is if i lean on something maybe a wall or on the floor. Last week i collapsed to the floor as i didnt have nothing nearby to lean on but this was at home. Anyways i just wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else.

    Thanks

    lol dont drink alcohol.

Might as well get it checked out. It doesn't take long and it's better to be sure it's not your blood pressure!

yeh i booked an appointment for next thursday:)

docs will more than likely take some bloods see whats up, if nothing guessing MRI?

Hope you get better soon though and find some answers

i had this it was vertigo.
However i also get it due to my aneamia.

Need to go docs myself tomorrow to confirm that I have diabetes., hope you're alright.

i Agree, postural hypotension is most likley, i cant see how it could be anaemia. The doctor should do a bllod pressure with you lying down and then standing up to compare if there is a drop from lying to standing.

    Are you using recreational drugs?

defo low iron. see docs asap and get bloods done and maybe take some multivits to get iron up after blood test.

    get well soon

Even if this thing had happened to others it could be due to something completely different. Go and see your GP or even consider a neurologist.

TBH it could be any manner of things, so I'd be wary of non-professional advice originating from HUKD users. Diet and stress levels or recent holiday ilnesses or anything really could be the matter. Has anything in your lifestyle changed lately? It could be a vitamin defficiency as suggested, but if not, and you overload with supplements, this could cause more or different problems. Best get proper medical advice really. Can't you get an appointment any sooner ?

whatever you do,,,dont tell the doc you feel like a pair of curtains!

My Brother in law has been suffering dizziness. Today my sister found him asleep in the car when she was on her way to work, and frog marched him to the Doctors.

Typical man doesn't take himself, but in all seriousness they checked him over and said his BP was so bad that he is close to having a stroke. He suffers cluster headaches!

I don't intend to panic you, because like others have said - it can be caused by so many things, but it's just important that you get checked out.. and if you feel really bad get down to A&E or a walk in Centre.

I hope you feel better soon

If I been passing out etc feeling dizzy then I would go to A&E,I wouldn't bother going to GP until I been to A&E for them to get tests started as quicker than GP appointment. GP won't be able to tell you anything in the room really, just assumptions what it might be.So you need get blood tests done for starters and he/she will refer you to whatever clinic in meantime or wait for blood results to come back.

Well, kapows, I'm not a qualified doctor and I think you're very sensible to make an appointment with the best one, MBarz.
I used to get similar symptoms quite often when I was 18 - 20. Once the police picked me up as I lost vision when I was in a public phone box and had to crawl out!! Anyway, it never got as frequent as yours so I didn't do anything about it and it went away by the time I was 25.
I think that if you can remember to get up slowly then that helps. Good luck with the doc and hope that all turns out well.

    You've caught the Ghey.

yeah some of those calling cards are xxx rated:w00t::w00t::w00t:

I have something similar but it may be depression, I generally feel almost normal out and about but as soon as I sit down I space out and get heavy headed and the longer I sit down when I stand up I feel almost completly out of it literally there could be a busy roud and loud cars and I would barely hear them if at all.

I did have a blood pressure test about a year or maybe a bit more ago and at same time told them about gut pain and they said my stomach was a bit inflamed(have piled on the pounds) and I had slightly high blood pressure. Not sure if thats why I cannot drink alcohol anymore as it just makes me dizzy and want to faint, however if I do a long walk or go to gym first I can handle alcohol ok.

Chesso glad to hear you are better now. The same thing has happened to me a couple of weeks ago when I lost my vision/fainted in a public place so there was an ambulance called. Turns out I have naturally low blood pressure and then went really low this day for some reason! Blood and heart tests came back normal.
Glad you are getting it checked out marzbarz and hope you get well soon.

I forgot to say that I also had naturally very low blood pressure. I was carted off in an ambulance as well, from the phone box incident. Hospital discharged me as soon as I felt better. It was a long time ago now. There didn't seem to be any particular reason for it to suddenly go really low but I always found that hot weather was a trigger!! Hope it passes for you as well.

each to their own i guess:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Hon you really need to run it by your doc he will wanna do some tests to make sure you're okay...

There may be medications you can take that improve the symptoms and treat the problem behind them.
