yeh but last time i cocked it up spraying it so i will just spray it in the lid and paint it from the lid :thinking:

I don't think a lot of people know what you mean, they think all paint is oil based, the fact is you mean cellulose or water, I think Halfords went over to water based in 2007, check with them. It is now illegal to sell more than a certain amount of cellulose, I don't know if this applies to individuals or the seller, I was told both but it is getting increasingly difficult to get cellulose based paints since the law changed in Jan 2007.

It's solvent based

thanks a few useful tips in there. just need to find out what paint it is

Spray a bit, if it smells like pear drops its x% solids/x% thinners. Pretty sure they don't make water based in a rattle can.

How big an area do you need to cover by the way? Anything more than 1cm2 (ie stone chips) then I would say don't bother with a brush. The flash off time on solvent based automotive paint is so low it'll be like trying to paint with treacle.

Its a rattle can. I want to paint about 0.5cm by 0.5cm. I might just get the paint brush 2moro after i have read the can

Well you would have been better off getting one of these tbh....
